Why do British people say "To hospital" or "To University"?
Instead of "To the Hospital" or "To the University" as we do here in America?
Well, we did invent the English language so maybe we say it like that because it’s the correct way of saying it? Why do people say ‘to the hospital’ and ‘to The University‘ in America?
can i be kicked out of university of phoenix for accidentally plagiarizing?
I just got a note from my professor at University of phoenix saying that I plagiarized work by citing it incorrectly and supposedly I have been warned earlier in the class about that although I don’t remember anything like that. She said that by University of phoenix code she will be reporting me as soon as tomorrow. I am generally an a student and have my professors know me as highly dedicated even through hard circumstances. I am also nearing my graduation and I am scared to death that they will kick me out of school which will mean no other school would ever want me or fail me in the class which would cause me to have to take a break to pay all of my debt incurred so far which i absolutely can’t do. I submitted a long letter explaining what happened, my situation, and my previous academic integrity. I am really freaking out about this so please tell me what will happen if you are, were, or know someone who has dealt with that issue through university of phoenix. Please don’t sugar coat. I just need the truth.
They won’t kick you out for an incorrect citation, especially since it’s your first infraction. They’ll probably just deduct some marks from your paper.
She has to formally report as per the school’s academic integrity policy, but that doesn’t mean the punishment will be severe.
They only kick people out for repeated intentional plagiarism. For example, if you’re caught copying and pasting from the internet twice, they might kick you out. Or, if you paid someone to write a paper for you and submitted it as your own/if you copied a paper from the internet, they might kick you out without a second chance for that.
Incorrect citations aren’t such a big deal. It’s obvious that there was no intent to plagiarize, and that counts for a lot. They have to punish you in some way since it is a rule infraction, but I think it will be mild.
Does going to a top university guarantee a successful life in most cases?
Do you think that the kids who get into Princeton, Harvard, Yale and Stanford right out high school will in most cases have a life where they make the six figure salary and own the best houses, drive the nicest cars, send their kids to the nicest schools and so forth?
No, I have seen tons of people who have degrees from Harvard and Princeton end up making 25-30kk per year. When you get to an Ivy, you need to stay competitive and compete with the top students, when you come out near the top among those students then you end up getting a shot at the Top Graduate Programs and after that you need to stay competitive there. Then you get a chance at making the big bucks.
If it was that easy, well, we would have a lot of rich people in the US now wouldn’t we.
What was best University in Hitlers time?
I need to know what was the top rated University to graduate from during Hitlers reign, preferably in Germany.
For Germany, Heidelberg was most prestigious (though others might have been academically better)
In France : the Sorbonne
Britain… the various colleges in Oxford and Cambridge were bickering about who was better.
USA, I don’t know.
This summer I have a full time job at the university doing inaugurations and tours. Is it a good idea to…?
Dress up for it every single day? Because that’s what I’m pretty sure I’m going to do. It’s my first ever full-time job (I’m 17), and I figure I’m almost an adult so I should be dressing more professionally than I would be at, say, 15 years old.
I think I’m going to suck it up and wear outfits that comprise of cardigans, skirts (all of which go only an inch above the knee), pantyhose, and heels (no shorter than 3-4 inches; either stilettos or pumps). Is that a good idea?
Yes, you’ll look more professional.
How safe is the area around the University of Pennsylvania?
I will be walking to and from campus at The UnivUniversity of Pennsylvania. How safe is the area for walking (considering I will be essentially new to the area)? Specifically, how far west along Walnut Street can an unfamiliar person walk away from campus?
I have heard that West Philly can get bad, and is not far west of campus.
Well I went to go visit drexel, which is right next door to UPenn, and it seemed pretty safe to me. Many of the people said that as long as you walk around with a person or two, you are fine, but the area is not very bad. I did not feel like it was too dangerous.
Personally, I found the area around LaSalle University and Temply University to be really dangerous and unsafe… I’m not sure if that is west Philly or not but it was a bout 10-15 min drive away…
What are the best online universities that offer masters degrees?
I would like to get an online masters degree in marketing. What are the best online universities? Are there any reputable conventional Universities that offer full degrees online? Harvard offers online courses, some of which could be counted towards a masters degree, but does not offer a full degree online.
I am not a residence of the US and not able to travel to attend regular courses but I am able to travel for tests.
I guess I’m looking for a good marketing masters program from a reputable University.
I am not aware of a top school that offers an online masters degree specifically in marketing. However, you may be able to get a degree in a closely related field depending on what area of marketing you want to pursue. So this answer is going to be geared toward Universities with an excellent reputation.
Harvard’s Extension School has some programs that only require that you take a single class in person. If you plan your course work carefully, you can take a summer session class and only have to be in Cambridge for 8 weeks. So the amount of time you’d need to be in the US would be minimal. If you can travel for tests, this might work out for you. Also, Harvard’s Extension School seems to have some of the lowest tuition of any reputable online school, so you might actually come out ahead financially over some of the other options. Generally you should expect to spend about $18,000 to $20,000 on tuition.
Here is some information about the Harvard Extension School experience:

Another place you might look is Penn State. Many of their programs require some type of residency. The MBA program requires you to come for two week long classes. Still, if you can travel for tests, this is probably doable. The cost will probably be in the $20,000 to $60,000 range depending on what classes you take.

Two other places you might check:
http://scpd.stanford.edu/
http://www.cvn.columbia.edu/
They are both significantly more expensive than Harvard or Penn State. Stanford may require that you have a corporate sponsor. Columbia looks like their program may be possible without any travel at all.
Good luck!
Which is the best university to go to in College?
I know that the best schools in the country are Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines Diliman, and De La Salle Greenhills.
I’ve been asking a couple of people about their opinion, some say Ateneo, some UP, and some La Salle. I don’t know, really. I know it depends on the course and the financial thing, but I’m looking for the BEST.
Which do you think is the best school, and give a concrete reason why.
Thank you so much, I really need your opinion.
It DOES depend on what degree/course you would like to pursue. There is no perfect/best college or university. It all depends on the student, and not the popularity of his or her school.
Anyway, here`s a shortlist of popular courses/degrees, and the colleges and Universities that are known for them/specializes in them. These are mostly in Metro Manila, by the way:
*Natural Sciences (Bio, Chem, etc.) – UP Diliman, University of Santo Tomas
*Medicine/Pre-Med/Nursing – UP Manila, University of Santo Tomas
*Dentistry/Optometry and Pharmacy – Centro Escolar University, Far Eastern University
*Engineering/Computer Studies – Mapua Institute of Technology, De La Salle University, Don Bosco Technical College, University of Santo Tomas
*Business/Management – Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University
*Architecture/Fine Arts – UP Diliman, University of Santo Tomas
*Culinary Arts/HRM/Tourism – DLS-College of Saint Benilde, Lyceum of the Philippines University
*Liberal Arts (Bachelor of Arts degrees) – De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, UP Diliman
*International Studies – Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, UP Diliman, DLS-College of Saint Benilde, Lyceum of the Philippines
*Accountancy – University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University
*Education – De La Salle University, National Teachers College, Philippine Normal University
*Aviation – PATTS College of Aeronautics, Airlink International Aviation School
Those for me excel in the said fields.
Hope this helps!

Does anyone have the link to the ORIGINAL A Very Potter Musical?
It was produced by students from The UnivUniversity of Michigan. It’s a parody of Harry Potter and it stars Darren Criss, Lauren Lopez, Joe Walker, etc.
The one on YouTube right now isn’t the original. They cut out some of the inappropriate stuff.
there is no way to find the original version, because it was removed off youtube, and that was the only place it was
