Anyone know where I can find recordings of the TV programmes for Open University S101 science course?

with 2 comments

Already tried google / ebay / youtube. The OU obviously wont supply them – Does anybody out there collect OU course material?

As 1952 has said, people advertise on Sesame but there is also a facebook group.

Actually I still have my recordings of S101 but I took the course in 1979 so this may not be much use to you now. It was much harder in those dark days.

How hard is it to get in to University of Toronto?

with 2 comments

I am doing A-levels now. And I’d want to be doing a degree in International politics, then masters for law.

It really depends on the program you’re applying to. Programs in the Life Sciences are harder to get into because the demand is higher, but program like Physics or Mathematics (I’m a math student) are easier to get into, but probably harder to do well. You should call the Admissions and Awards office to get more information. Another thing, the average for admission will also depend on which campus you’re applying to. St. George is the hardest one to get into and also the better one. UTM and UTSc both are easier to get into, but not a lot of course selection, so they’re not that great.

Hope this helps!

Is it possible to transfer from a lower level no name four year university (accredited) to a top 50?

with 5 comments

Assuming you apply as a junior transfer (for the final two years), maintain a good GPA (3.8 or above) and you do a lot of volunteer work and ECs. You were a B student in high school.

Is it possible to transfer from a tier 4 or tier 3 school to a top 50 University like Georgetown, Washington U in St Louis or Vanderbilt?

YES, how many times are you going to ask? stop second guessing yourself and stop annoying everyone on here.

If I get into the university of michigan mba program, how much can I look to make when graduating?

with 2 comments

Looking to get into University of michigans mba program. What kind of average salary do people get who graduate from michigans mba program? Isn’t it top 10 in country?

The program is ranked 12th by US News. Expect a salary between $75k and $125K.

Your previous business experience, your business school concentration, the field of business in which you work, and the area of the country will all be factors in the determination of the earnings. In some fields of business you may also qualify for a year-end bonus based on your performance.

IS the University of Alaska Anchorage hard to transfer into?

with one comment

Im from Georgia but my dad just moved to Alaska and I want to go to UAA, is it hard to transfer into? I have a 2.5 GPA

Here are the transfer requirements for UAA

http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/admissions/admis_trns_ret_bac.cfm

It only mentions High School GPA, but it is 2.5, so I would think the requirement would be similar, and you will need you transcripts and SAT or ACT score. University of Alaska is a large school, serving students at many levels, and should be able to work with you on admission.
I am pretty sure you will be out of state tuition, at least until you establish residency. SO speak with someone at Admissions right away about how to do that. Once you are a resident the tuition is much cheaper.

good luck

If a student manages to get into a top university as a transfer student, what does it tell you about him?

with one comment

Lets say a student did so so in high school due to difficulties in life, but in college he shined and did outstanding, so well that he applied to a top University for his final two years of college, if he gets accepted, what does that tell you about the student?

Also, do transfer students at Top UnivUniversities have less opportunities than the ones who have been there for a while?

No, they both have the same opportunities. Your resume and transcript will not say community college. You will only have your bachelor degree granting institution. You only suffer socially in college as a transfer student. You meet most of your friends in freshman and sophomore years because you take generals etc. The final two years are your major’s coursework. You can still make friends this way though.

The big question Should Reggie Bush be stripped of his Heisman Trophy?

with 13 comments

A lot of new casters say yes. What will that prove? All I can say is this doesn’t amount to anything. Why? Because it’s sponsored by the Downtown Athletic club in New York. Last time I checked they made the decisions. My problem is why punish the young ambitious athletes at USC for Reggie Bush’s sins something has to be done about this this is clearly wrong to some Outstanding athletes and very good young men. Change the policy of punishing The UnivUniversity with such hard sanctions.

If they didn’t stripped Orenthal Simpson of the Trophy, then nobody should.

Is it hard for a student who graduate from university of toronto to get a job?

with 2 comments

I am going to study Biochemistry. Are there a lot of opportunities for a student who graduate from University of toronto?

It depends on how much effort you put. If you only get a 2.0 average, than yes, it will be hard. If you give it your best and put yourself out there, it won’t be hard getting a job regardless of what college you go to.
