What are my chances of successfully transferring into Duke University?

with 2 comments

Hypothetically speaking…

…What are my chances of successfully transferring into Duke University if I never went to High School, but I earned my GED and enrolled into a community college for two years under a transfer program? Lets also say that I had a 4.0 GPA, an outstanding list of extracurricular activities, and great relationships with all the professors at this supposed community college.

You have the best chance ever…I mean if you did all that (which is what most schools are looking for) you can definitely be admitted. Now, having all these qualifications shows that you have put much effort into acquiring your goals and all that looks good in a resume!

How hard is it to get in to University of Toronto?

with 2 comments

I am doing A-levels now. And I’d want to be doing a degree in International politics, then masters for law.

It really depends on the program you’re applying to. Programs in the Life Sciences are harder to get into because the demand is higher, but program like Physics or Mathematics (I’m a math student) are easier to get into, but probably harder to do well. You should call the Admissions and Awards office to get more information. Another thing, the average for admission will also depend on which campus you’re applying to. St. George is the hardest one to get into and also the better one. UTM and UTSc both are easier to get into, but not a lot of course selection, so they’re not that great.

Hope this helps!

IS the University of Alaska Anchorage hard to transfer into?

with one comment

Im from Georgia but my dad just moved to Alaska and I want to go to UAA, is it hard to transfer into? I have a 2.5 GPA

Here are the transfer requirements for UAA

http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/admissions/admis_trns_ret_bac.cfm

It only mentions High School GPA, but it is 2.5, so I would think the requirement would be similar, and you will need you transcripts and SAT or ACT score. University of Alaska is a large school, serving students at many levels, and should be able to work with you on admission.
I am pretty sure you will be out of state tuition, at least until you establish residency. SO speak with someone at Admissions right away about how to do that. Once you are a resident the tuition is much cheaper.

good luck

Is it hard for a student who graduate from university of toronto to get a job?

with 2 comments

I am going to study Biochemistry. Are there a lot of opportunities for a student who graduate from University of toronto?

It depends on how much effort you put. If you only get a 2.0 average, than yes, it will be hard. If you give it your best and put yourself out there, it won’t be hard getting a job regardless of what college you go to.

two years of junior college and then columbia university?

with 3 comments

I want to go to Junior college and then transfer to columbia University, I want to know what the chances of columbia accepting me would be, also if there is anything else i should do to increase my chances.. thank you very much!

Hi GKD,

I know the logic tends to be go to community college, get high grades, and then transfer into a good school. Unfortunately many schools know that logic and will penalize you for making that choice. My feeling is if you want to transfer into Columbia you are better off going to a four year university, pulling a high GPA >3.5, and then trying to transfer then going to a community college.

I am not a genuis, can i be a cum laude, MAGna or SUmma cum laude Here in University of the Phil.?

How?I think my best is not enuf…

You don’t need to be a genius, but you do need to have very strong grades to get honors at graduation. I don’t know how far along in your program you are, or what your grades are now, to know if it is even possible. Rest assured, though, that the honors are mostly just to honor you; they don’t make any kind of difference to employers or anyone else beyond what they imply about your GPA.

How do College and University students tolerate the amount of STUPID work they have to do?

with 6 comments

and which percentage of things a student is forced to memorize can they actually use when starting whichever occupation they want?

what are some examples of the kinds of stupid assignments many are told to complete? and why some dont mind this and can do it ,,while others just CANT!.lol
for example, a pharmacist,,or chemist…why do they make someone who counts pills and pours them in a bottle KNOW all the things they are required to learn about Chemistry etc? when they are just drug sales people basically?

please explain why..lol and what is your opinion too?

thanks for your answers!

Well, I’m pre-med, and a chemist needs to master chemistry in ordered to be called a chemist. lol. And a pharmacist needs to master the study of pharmacy to be a pharmacist. They don’t only pour medications into bottles, they also mix them, and make them…meaning the pills that you take were made by pharmacist. Would you honestly want someone with less than a masters making a medication for you, that could kill you if it wasn’t made precisely correct? But I do think some courses we have to take for pre-med are overrated. ;D

Can someone transfer from University of Windsor to Mcmaster or Guelph second year?

with one comment

I was sick during my last year of high school and couldn’t into Guelph cause my average was 1 percent lower than what they asked for. I was thinking that i might be able to do my first year at University of Windsor and then transfer to another University second year.

It certainly is possible. Do the best as you can as a freshmen and remain healthy./
